Teens in Action
Teens in Action (TIA) targets high school graduation and employment. TIA is a youth development program designed to inspire, empower, and enrich the lives of High School age teens, (9th - 11th grades) through academic support, community service, career development, enhancement activities and enrichment trips. The goal at Teens in Action is to create positive contributing citizens.
- Community Service: Teens build confidence, learn and improve social skills, gain a sense of connection to their community, as well as complete the requirements for community service for high school graduation.
- Academic Support: Teens participate in one on one Powerschool academic support sessions with staff for up-to-date information on academics strengths and challenges.
- Career Development: Teens are prepared to succeed in the workplace through access to workshops, learning how to apply for a job, resume building, interviewing skills and professional communication. Teens also have the opportunity to participate in internships.
- Enhancement activities & Enrichment trips: Teens participate in positive activities: life skills, college tours, career exploration, and fun field trips.
COOL (Careers of Our Lives) Directions
Year-round, in school, youth initiative for students, ages 16-18 (grades 11-12), who participate in team building, portfolio development, and employment activities. The program also offers a summer component with a paid internship.
